Jazz Coalescence / Chris Ameniya
Christian Heilman is a wonderful sound guy. He has run the sound on a couple of live concerts for my jazz group, Jazz Coalescence. In both cases, the performance spaces presented unique challenges, but Christian was the ultimate professional and worked to assure that the best sounds were conveyed to the audience. Christian also recorded our band live in performance using his mobile recording equipment. His attention to detail and microphone choices were greatly appreciated, and Christian was both cordial and constructively critical on the subsequent mixing sessions at his studio. Our finished product, “In the Rain Shadow” for the Origin label, received extensive airplay across the country. Many listeners, critics included, commented specifically on the clarity and quality of sound on the recording.
Christian has a love for music in all its varied forms and is the
